Steve TrautmanSteve Trautman is the author of the Peer Mentoring Workshop and works in collaboration with the Maverick Institute to deliver training and consulting. Steve has helped thousands of employees, business leaders and managers improve how they communicate, transfer knowledge and deliver on-the-job training. Steve’s expertise in knowledge transfer was born at Microsoft where he started as a project manager on the early versions of Word. He developed Peer Mentoring for his team and later founded one of Microsoft’s earliest training departments. Microsoft continues to offer Peer Mentoring worldwide. While with Microsoft and, later as General Manager for the Advertising Business Unit at Expedia.com, Steve gained first-hand knowledge of the everyday realities of leading, teaching and learning on the job. He has worked with employees from the front lines and factory floor, to the sales desk and on up to the chief executive’s office. In between speaking and consulting engagements, Steve can often be found on adventure travels that have taken him from the North Pole to the Equator, from the jungles of Central America to Myanmar and Thailand. His new book entitled Teach What You Know, A Practical Leader’s Guide to Knowledge Transfer and Peer Mentoring (Prentice Hall) is available online. |
